Job Summary

The Market Development and Sales Manager will serve as the point person for commercial product portfolio.  This person will be primarily responsible for establishing an initial base of key accounts through direct interaction and use of distributors to develop markets for new technologies.  The ideal candidate is a motivated, well-organized individual who has a deep understanding of technology as well as prospecting and developing strong relationships with customers. The ideal candidate is a motivated, well-organized individual who has a deep understanding of technology as well as prospecting and developing strong relationships with customers.  They will support after sales adoption and utilization of Orchestra’s products.  The position reports to the EVP & GM, Interventional Therapies.  This role can be remote, based in the continental United States, and will have extensive travel.

Role and Responsibilities – Including but not limited to:

  • Develop and execute sales objectives, business plans and account strategies. Track customer activities, competitor activities, and prospective customer initiatives.
  • Execute key strategic sales activities to maximize all Orchestra BioMed’s commercial products
  • Lead product demos and test drives, serving as the technical expert.
  • Lead efforts to promote adoption of our procedures and technologies contributing to sales and market penetration.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues promptly, employing best practices to maintain operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure customer feedback is quickly and accurately communicated to the appropriate internal teams expediting resolutions.
  • Offer rapid, knowledgeable responses to customer technical inquiries, showcasing problem-solving abilities and in-depth product expertise.
  • Partner with colleagues to develop and support new marketing strategies
  • Negotiate Contract terms and lead VAC submission process, while fielding questions that arise out of new accounts.
  • Must develop and maintain expert level knowledge of all Orchestra BioMed commercial products and demonstrate a firm grasp of industry and market trends and develop strategies to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Travel 60%

 Qualifications – Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in medical device sales, and/or related sales experience. Knowledge of capital equipment sales a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and communicate complex technical products as well as anatomy, surgical procedures, and clinical knowledge of disease states, to physicians and economic buyers a must.
  • Must have outstanding ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • The ability to travel extensively (approx 60%) including overnight travel across the US.
  • Required to work in a hospital, or ASC setting, attending live patient cases as required as part of the job and must wear necessary protective gear.
  • Must be a Self-starter who performs well with autonomy.
  • Have existing relationships with Gastroenterologists and / or VA Hospital personnel desired.
  • Must have strong problem solving with ability to think critically in high pressure environments.
  • Proven ability to articulate customer needs and feedback to OBIO’s executive management and internal business partners as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritize those tasks.
  • Working knowledge of the Value Analysis Process.
  • Must be able to pass a background check including all hospital credentialing requirements and maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements including HIPAA.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and personal vehicle for field travel. A monthly car and cell phone allowance will be provided as well as a company issued laptop.
